2018 First Annual Heroes Cup Held At Daytona Stadium
DME Sports and DME Foundation closed out the weekend with the 1st Heroes Cup for Volusia and Flagler county this Saturday at the Daytona Stadium.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department suited up on the soccer field to raise money for the Foundation 37 Charity and the DME Charity Foundation.
Starting off with the inspiring invocation by Reverend Ronald Durham from Calvary Christian Church and the Spruce Creek flying community with their aircraft flyover over the field in a dedication of all the heroes in the community.
With over 400 people in attendance, Warner Christian High School Band performed at halftime and wowed the crowd with their continues play throughout the first half of the soccer match.
Throughout the game, the Police lead the whole game but the firefighters fought back to trail only by 1 goal for the last two minutes. With the crowd on edge, the intense game experienced some close calls that gave The Police the victory in the end with the score of 4-3. With the compliment of competitiveness, the police and firemen shook hands for a purpose, the community!
