DME HS National Defends Home Court With 20 Point WIN Against PotterHouse
DME Sports Academy High School National set the tone for Conference Play in a win against PotterHouse Christian Academy 81-61.
HS National started the game with a chip on their shoulder from the last time they saw PotterHouse that ended in a 7 point loss for DME.
Starting the game, DME went on a 6-1 run that left Potterhouse trailing by 9 points, 12-3. DME 7’1 Center Assane Diouf finished with 13 points, with a massive dunk in the first few minutes of the game.
Finishing up the first half, DME extended the lead to 22 points, 43-21. Senior guard Marko Vukojcic made his way into the starting line up with 10 of his 12 points in the first half.
Starting the second half, DME put their foot on the gas keeping the lead to 20 points. DME’s win was a team effort with 4 players scoring in double figures. Sophomore Mayoum Mayoum finished with 12 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Mame Niang led the team in scoring with 19 points, adding 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.
“Very pleased with our defensive effort. Everyone did their part. We are peaking, playing our best basketball right now,” Coach Dan expressed after the game.
With the SIAA Conference Tournament three weeks away and HS National 2nd in the conference, DME looks forward to their game against West Oaks this Friday at 6:00 pm in DME Sports Academy Grind Session Tournament. Following the Friday game, DME also plays Central Pointe High School Saturday at 3:00 pm.
