Prep Orange Falls To Montverde
DME Prep Orange lost to Montverde 78-72 Tuesday afternoon.
Prep Orange suited up for the first in two weeks to play Montverde for the second time this season.
Orange trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half, and despite missing three of their players, including two starters from injury, they managed to trail by 11 points at halftime.
Fouls were a concern for Orange during the first half with four big players found themselves on the bench for the last five minutes of the first half for foul trouble.
Orange came back to take a brief lead late in the second half before Montverde retook the lead and held on to win. Damien Marquez had a season high of 39 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, as well as recording five steals. Marquez shot 11-16 from the field and shot 11-12 from the free throw line. Ralph Fabius had 14 points and eight rebounds, and Fahad Tarjali pulled down a team-high of nine rebounds.
Prep Orange record for Montverde is now 0-2 for the season.
Prep Orange now prepares for a match against Rising Stars on Saturday at noon in Ocala, Florida.
